Stevenson has worked as lead counsel, co-counsel and liaison counsel, and has coordinated the work of multiple firms in multidistrict litigation cases. He has represented parties in cases involving mass torts, including successfully litigating a potential multi-billion dollar insurance coverage action for a mutual insurer over claims arising from the flooding of New Orleans. J.R. also has experience in construction disputes, commercial mortgage disputes, and fee disputes between technology companies and investment banks.

Founder J.R. Stevenson has more than 20 years of experience with the industry, beginning with his work in the claims department of a New York-based insurance company while attending Stuyvesant High School in 1992. He is well-versed in complex mass tort and environmental coverage litigation, complex insurance coverage disputes, property damage and first party coverage issues, general liability coverage, and protection and indemnity (P&I) insurance.

We work extensively with insurers and corporate entities on a wide range of complex environmental matters, counseling and representing them in state and federal courts nationwide. Our experience includes cases involving oil spills, hazardous substance discharges, claims under the Environmental Protection Agency’s Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA), and state-based pollution claims. The firm is currently representing corporate entities identified as potentially responsible parties in the Newtown Creek Superfund site, which the EPA has described as "one of the most polluted water bodies in the country."
